Our responsibility to protect and preserve the environment for tomorrow’s generation is something we take very seriously, setting new standards for waste awareness reduction and management.
Our projects are leading the way when it comes to being environmentally proactive. A recent example is the Aura Innovation Centre at Hessle’s Bridgehead Business Park, a purpose-built facility which provides businesses with space to collaborate and innovate to deliver low-carbon energy and clean growth.
From the outset we worked with Aura to create a sustainable building, which exceeds environmentally-friendly standards.
The centre has already been recognised for its excellence in sustainability. It is positioned within the top 10% of sustainable UK new non-domestic buildings, thanks to its clever design, and construction, sustainable materials sourced and local supply chain used where possible – achieving an ‘excellent’ standard in BREEAM, the world’s leading sustainability assessment for buildings.
The AIC was also awarded an A-rated Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of 18, considerably higher than most new buildings of a similar scale (which would expect to achieve a rating of 31).
Among our ventures include being a member of the Humber Waste Alliance, joining some of the region’s biggest private and public-sector industries driving awareness of waste and its impact on the local water systems. The role includes sharing our best practice and helping one another.
