National recognition for East Riding sustainable housing scheme

Our innovative and bold approach to upgrading ageing housing has been recognised on a national scale, as we received the Sustainability award at this year’s Constructing Excellence National Awards.

Working with long-term client East Riding Council, our holistic approach to thermal upgrading works on the Easton Road Estate turned the homes from having zero insulation, to exceeding today’s new-build standards.

To make the homes as efficient as possible improvements were made to everything from the building fabric, through to the mechanical and electrical systems.

This included energy efficient heating, electrical and lighting systems; new high-performance double-glazed uPVC windows and doors; new external wall insulation with innovative brick aesthetics, new insulated porches and entrance ways.

The work’s were awarded the Sustainability title at this year’s Constructing Excellence Yorkshire and Humber Awards. The project was then named the winner of the Sustainability category at the Constructing Excellence National awards ceremony at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.

The ceremony was held on Friday 8th November and featured over 500 built environment professionals.

Our cost-effective approach helped take residents out of fuel poverty and we were very proud to see this work recognised on a national scale at the Constructing Excellence Awards.
