Marjorie Waite Court

“We have worked on behalf of City of York Council for many years and I have fond memories of being hands on with some of our schemes in the past. It’s great to see the team delivering one of the authorities’ flagship programmes for 2019-20.” -Pete Hobson, Chairman for Hobson & Porter.

Marjorie Waite Court Extra Care Scheme

This project involves the refurbishment, enhancement and the major extension of the Marjorie Waite Court Extra Care Scheme owned by the City of York Council.

We are building 29 new build apartments and 4 bungalows, along with improved communal facilities for all residents to enjoy as well as new landscaped gardens.

The new extension will include a multi-use hall to replace the former community centre. All facilities within the vastly extended and much-improved facility will be dementia friendly, enabling the provision of residential and specialist dementia care.

Byron Draycott, Senior Site Assistant, said: “In its own right, this is a complex build. The tight logistics, proximity of adjacent residents within Marjorie Waite Court and surrounding houses have put stakeholder liaison at the forefront of the project.”
